New dog owners

You love the idea of letting him run free.

But you’re scared he won’t come back.

That’s the number one fear of new dog owners — and for good reason. A dog who takes off and doesn’t respond to recall? It happens. And once he’s had a taste of freedom without coming back, it’s really hard to undo. This walk exists for exactly that — to give you the tools. Together, moving, in a real environment.

What we work on during that hour together

Long leash handling

How to hold the long line without it turning into a tug-of-war or a tangled mess. The right tension, the right posture, the right attitude — so your dog actually understands what you’re asking.

Recall

The foundation of everything. After a few tips on how to practice at home and in neutral settings, we work on recall in the forest — gradually, in a real environment, with real distractions.

Meeting other dogs

How to handle the moment another dog shows up. Stay calm, read the signals, step in or let it play out — you learn to read the situation.

Progressive off-leash freedom

Once the recall is solid enough, we work on off-leash freedom in the forest. Not all at once — step by step, at your pace, and most importantly, at his.

This walk is for you if…

You just adopted

Puppy or adult dog — you want to start off on the right foot and avoid building bad habits from the start.

You’re afraid to let him go

You avoid the forest because you’re not confident in his recall. You’d love to give him that freedom — but you’re scared of losing him.

You want to understand your dog

Not just learn techniques — actually understand why he does what he does, and how to respond in a way that makes sense.

FAQ — Educational walk

My dog is still a puppy — isn't it too early?

Not at all. The earlier you build the foundation for recall and off-leash freedom, the easier it gets. The forest is a fantastic playground for puppies.

My dog pulls a lot on leash — can we still work on things?

Absolutely — that’s actually one of the things we work on. Leash handling, managing tension, how your dog reacts to distractions — all of that gets worked on while we’re moving.

Is one session enough?

It depends on your dog and what you want to work on. One session is enough to lay the groundwork and walk away with practical tools. Some owners come back to go further — but it’s not required.

Does my dog need to already know the recall?

No. We start from wherever he’s at. If there’s no recall at all, we work with a long safety line and build from there.

Ready to give him his first real taste of freedom?

First step: a free 15-minute call. We talk about your dog and figure out what we can work on together.
